I love the possibilities in a container of leftover cranberry sauce.

We're still stuffed from Thanksgiving, but we're already prepared to welcome Santa. What a great day. The Post Thanksgiving Dinner get-together was a great success. We had tons of food, all my recipes came off without a hitch (okay, there was a boilover moment with the polenta, but I was the only one who saw it...oh yeah, and we had to extend the gravy) and we all had a great time. Take a look at my packed plate: Here's the menu we ended up with: Can you imagine the electricity bill for this place? Good thing they're using lots of LED's this year Kellan was bundled as if there were a blizzard outside, but it was really a mild evening. We put him in the backpack and wandered around the sparkling gardens (which, as some of you may remember is where Michael and I got married, so it was a nice trip down memory lane for us). I had heard Santa Claus might be there. He wasn't. I guess he had too much work to do at the North Pole. But I'm sure we'll catch up to him sometime in the next few weeks. Ron shooting a picture of a glowing, green shrub, with Mom, Michael and Kellan playing peek-a-boo in the little stone house in the background Mom amidst the twinkling wonderland of lights My two princes, inside a castle Michael peeking at the little monkey on his back A merry group of "Day after Thanksgiving" holiday revelers A family portrait on the swing bench-- Kellan got a pretty big kick out of trying to push Mommy's head out of the shot It's pretty obvious I have a lot to be thankful for. Ugh. What is with this cold? I thought I was on the road to recovery, and I started getting some energy back, but today all I want to do is lay in bed and have someone bring me tea and soup. The cough is all-consuming, and is seriously compromising my lung capacity. I can't even laugh without going into a fit of honking.
How could this be? My little baby, ready for a big boy bed? Uh oh. Stachetober was actually a competition with some of his friends. I think the Stachetober bouffant hairdo is what I really didn't like -- he looked like he was straight out of the 1970's. I thought was dodging the bullet pretty nicely, but alas. I don't think I've ever been pleased by the thought of raking up leaves. Check. It. Out. |
