Say hello to The Rayguns

Yep, it's our new home in blogland. It's still a work in progress, but it's getting there.

The Reagan Rendezvous will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only is it the place where I first got my feet wet in the world of blogging, but it's the place where I documented many, many, many firsts for my little family.

So this site will remain as long as Weebly cares to keep hosting it, and I'll keep a link to the Reagan Rendezvous over at The Rayguns.

Thanks for joining us here at the Reagan Rendezvous. Please be sure to note our new site in your bookmarks, or blog reader, or your brain -- however you keep tabs on us. Just be sure to come on over with us to The Rayguns. We're looking forward to great things in 2009!

I've had it 12/31/2008

All right, this is it.

I have had it with Weebly.

Did you see that last post? It is apparently impossible for me to edit out that dummy paragraph. Weebly won't let me. It's my site -- I should get to do what I want!!

I've been contemplating a blog switch for a while now, and I think it's time. Weebly was fun, but it's not worth the headaches. The lost posts, the multiple error messages, the frustrating template requirements.

So faithful blog readers, my thanks to you for caring enough to check in here at the Reagan Rendezvous. This blog will be back, perhaps in a different format, definitely in a different blog editor, and I will leave a post here letting you know where to find it, once it is ready for launch.

To paraphrase Bono as U2 wrapped up the success of the 80's and embarked on a new musical mission in the 90's: it's time to go away for a while and dream it all up again.

My dad's place in McCall isn't the best site for sledding -- the backyard is basically one massive drop-off with the freezing river below. So we've found a nearby location that works quite well, even if it doesn't photograph well. It's a culdesac at the end of the street that's usually quite abandoned.

So during our first full day in McCall, we decided to forego the stress of getting to Brundage in a timely manner for a day of questionable skiing (it was super foggy the day before) and did a little culdesac sledding instead.

This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar.

We're back! 12/31/2008

We had a great time in McCall, in spite of the rain. Yes, rain! It was very disheartening and depressing. Luckily, it wasn't really raining on the ski hill. It was, however, windy enough to shut down all the main chairs at Brundage. So Michael and I didn't get all the awesome skiing in that we had hoped to. But Kellan was a different story -- he ripped up the bunny hill!!! Stay tuned for pics...

We're in the mountains, enjoying the snow (and hoping it will stop melting!!!). I didn't think I'd get a chance to blog, but then my dad mentioned he's got an internet air card for his computer. So what am I doing? Blogging. People are making fun of me, but I'm blogging. Just a little bit, honest. I would post pictures of our sledding/skiing/snowman making day, but I'm not on my computer so I'll save that for later.

But we've had a fun day. Kellan is exhausted and snoring downstairs, Enzo has collapsed on the floor, and we're all enjoying a few nightcaps before retiring for the day. Tomorrow: Brundage Mountain!!!

Kellan is in love with the idea of skiing. Thankfully, he's doing much better than his mommy did when she first snapped into a pair of skis!

Michael surprised both Kellan and I with a little pair of skis and boots this Christmas, so after the presents were opened, Kellan got suited up and headed outside.

We have a little skier in the making!

Santa's workshop sure was busy on Christmas Eve. Once a certain someone was all snug in his bed, a couple of very tired elves worked their fingers to the bone putting the final touches on the sweet retro kitchen you see here. Thanks to a last minute delivery from one of Santa's suppliers, the elves had all the parts and pieces they needed to turn the pile of boards into a shiny surprise.

Phew! 12/25/2008

We hit the holidays hard this year. As Michael put it tonight, "I feel like we just sprinted a holiday marathon."

We're exhausted, but happy. We got to spend time with all our loved ones, eat lots of yummy food and we all have new toys to play with. The blogging bonanza of holiday photos is coming soon.

I hope the holidays were good to you too -- Merry Christmas!

Coo-kee!!! 12/22/2008

It's not often that Kellan gets a cookie. But hey, it's Christmas. Courtney and Adam made a batch this weekend and made some special ones for Kellan, so I allowed him to indulge.

The photo above was taken post-cookie. Just look at that happy face!

Check it out!

This is Megan's birthday gift to Kellan and it's adorable! Kellan loves it. He points out everything on the fabrics -- the sock monkeys, the numbers, the little bandages and bottles of medicine. He also loves to play "night night" and lay on it.

Thank you Megan!!!
