Beware of the Doghouse!
JC Penney really hit one out of the park with this advertising concept. It is clever and hilarious. You have to watch.
"Ultimately, what the bailout does is..."
Really? Is that how it works Governor Palin?
Click below to see the how CNN pointed out the eerie (and hilarious) similarities between one of Palin's interviews with Katie Couric and the SNL sketch the following weekend.
Best Live Shot 2008
This is by far THE best live shot of the year. In case Andrea Mitchell doesn't win an award, we tip our hat to her here.
Yes, we can see you Andrea. Barely.
Oops.
The guy in this video is a good friend of my co-worker, Jill. It looks like it could be staged, which makes it even funnier that it truly happened! As he told Jill, "I could either be embarrassed, or post it on YouTube."
Here's his description of the video on the YouTube posting: "I fall down at a presser. The guy in front of the mics is the DA of Albany County...Long story short, I didn't get hurt, but I broke the door."
7.29.08: Happy Birthday Megan!!!
Wish I could celebrate with you in person! Hope you enjoy your day, and get to spoil yourself a little!
Where the hell is Matt?
This guy makes me jealous. I want to travel all over the world and dance like a five year old! Sheesh.

Shan's New Obsession
Here it is. This book is the reason why my house is a mess, the dishes are piled in the sink, and the laundry is piled up. I love this book. Next-door-neighbor/longtime friend Courtney loaned me her copy, and unfortunately for her, that simple act has made me a bad friend since every spare moment I have, I pick up this book instead of the phone.
I won't ruin it for you, but the writing is witty and introspective. The author is so honest about her struggle to find a compromise between indulgence, faithful devotion and love. She travels to Italy, India and Indonesia for answers.
Unfortunately for my waistline, the first chapter has reignited my burning desire to visit Italy, which at this time I can only do by making lots of Italian food and drinking wine. Maybe now that I'm into the India chapter, I'll at least start doing a little Yoga and work off a few of those extra calories...
Who am I kidding? Who has time for Yoga when I've got a book to finish?
Ahh....the beach
This is a photo of us in June 2007 at Cannon Beach, Oregon. It was our first plane trip with Kellan! We were there to celebrate the wedding of our friends Jamison and Shelley. They're now expecting their first baby in October! Anyway, I've been thinking of the Cannon Beach trip a lot lately, because JJ and Shelley just celebrated their first wedding anniversary on June 2, which also happens to be the first birthday of a little boy I love and miss -- Griffin Greenstein! It's amazing all the things a person starts to reflect on, just by looking at a picture. --Shan
Michael is an Obamaniac.
I've always been pretty interested in politics, but this Presidential election is different. I'm more engaged (even volunteered a bit) for a lot of reasons. First, I don't think our nation and world can afford to wait too much longer before we start doing something to change things around here. Second, I'm inspired. Barack Obama is an amazing politician; so skilled at framing issues and communicating. Every time I watch him, it is a lesson in marketing. His website, www.barackobama.com is hands-down the best political site I've ever seen. The branding and design of all his campaign materials are brilliant. He moves me and millions of others and think he is exactly what we need to solve huge problems like climate change and American's position in the world.
This photo was taken by our friend, Otto Kitsinger, when Obama came to Boise for a rally in front of 15,000 people. Otto is an amazing photographer. Check out his website: www.performancephotography.com
The idea that Barack gets knocked for being a rock star is funny to me. I think our politicians do need to be captivating and interesting. Politics is the marketing and management of ideas and ideals, and needs more creativity and cool. This video is pretty cool:
Dwight Schrute. Nuf said.
The Office is a family favorite, although we don't get to watch it often enough. Arrested Development is freaking hilarious, but the glory of this Office highlight reel goes to Dwight.
Slow Day at the Office
We run a pretty tight ship at Fox 12 News, but let's face it. Sometimes you gotta let off a little steam. The video creation below may not be funny to anyone else, but it makes us laugh at ourselves.
Charlie Bit Me!
Since we've become parents, even the most seemingly mundane things kids do have become funny to us. Even if they're not kids we know.
She's Crafty
In my past life (pre-Kellan), I was a knitter. Now there's always some other pressing task taking precedence over the knitting needles. However, I still have one fabulously crafty friend and I live vicariously through her projects. Here is a link to her website: http://knittingknot.blogspot.com/ The photo you see here is a picture of one of Megan's works-in-progress...a birthday quilt for Kellan!
Fox 12's "The A Team"
Another sweet video from the Fox 12 crew. I must give a shout out to photojournalist Jill Hardy, who made sure everyone got a scene and then edited this bad boy together.
