Ahh, naptime. It has allowed me to rediscover a long lost love: reading. That is the question. Here's the dilemma: when we bought our house, only half of it actually had gutters. So getting new gutters is obviously a project that's long overdue. I got so excited when I heard Mommy and Daddy decided to take me on a bike ride today. I just can't get bikes out of my head lately! I see them everywhere and always have to point them out. I mulled over whether or not to actually make Michael a cake for his birthday. I finally decided not to bake anything, because having a lot of baked sweets around the house isn't good for me or him, and he's on a health kick lately. But at the last minute, I got an idea.
"Really?" I asked. He took a second bite and let out another "mmm" sound, and that's when I fessed up. I wanted to see if he was just humoring me, when in fact, he could taste every bit of the secret healthiness. But no! He was totally surprised by my confession. The man who can detect the presence of wheat germ in my pancakes didn't mind the mistake. In fact, he kept eating after I revealed the truth. The big day is here: 08.08.08. It just so happens that Michael is 33 today -- what a fitting number! Is this not the most intriguing magazine cover you've ever seen?!? Those rosy cheeks! Those beautiful baby blues! Yes, Kellan is clearly the best cover model on the planet under 2. Aha! I have discovered the source of Kellan's explosive fussiness as of late. During a particularly loud howling session this morning, I spotted what I was unable to feel with my finger the previous morning: Kellan's new teeth. One has already broken through on his right, and another is still pushing at the gums on the left. These are just the greatest flowers, are they not? Not mine in particular, just the petunia in general. They're bright and cheery, flower like crazy for months on end and don't mind too terribly much if I miss a day of watering. Which I frequently do. |
